Dr Bennett qualified in 2003 with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
He has broad ranging experience in the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders to include depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis and personality disorder. His primary therapeutic orientation is cognitive therapy and he has a number of qualifications in both Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). He is an Associate Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York and has been accredited by the Institute as a therapist and supervisor in CBT and REBT
Dr Bennett also works for the NHS in Forensic Mental Health Services, where his primary responsibility is the assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders, with particular emphasis on serious mental illness, offending behaviour, and issues of risk. He has over five years experience as an expert witness, during which he has prepared psychological reports for the Court in a range of Criminal and Civil cases. He also has considerable experience of providing teaching, training and supervision.
